This is how I approach technical-commercial problems at the intersection of advanced materials, manufacturing processes, and market adoption. The same problem is worth reading three ways.
Commercial view — budget needs evidence
Is the proposed route or solution plausible at the relevant volumes, scales, and economics?
Which specific proof would make the next commitment more defensible for the people holding budget and risk?
Technical view — the failure tree matters
Where is progress or qualification actually stuck?
Is the bottleneck in core physics or integration, material behaviour, process control, scale-up realities, or a mismatch with real production and post-processing conditions?
Research and model view — precision needs humility
Scenario planning exists to navigate the unknowable faster and better prepared.
What can be reliably inferred from public data and first principles with reasonable confidence? What genuinely requires targeted validation or experiment? Where does the current model or assumption stop being honest about its limits?
And which scenarios — volume bands, supply or qualification paths, competitive or regulatory shifts — would meaningfully change the decision weight, or the proof required next?
Three sentences that survive all three views
Proof beats narrative. The market decides, not the lab. Evidence over enthusiasm.
The filter runs the same way in every direction: clarity on what is knowable against what still needs proving, and a bias toward actionable de-risking over polished stories.
